I created my first seahorse "Serenity" back in 2017. He won the fantasy division in the BreyerFest Best Customs contest that year! Since then I've been wanting to make more seahorses, and started a few new sculptures this spring. Three baby seahorse foals are floating around my workbench in various stages of completion... here's a sneak peek!

I'm sculpting these from scratch out of air-drying floral clay (aka porcelain clay). It's slightly flexible, so his fins bend a little. It's taking forever to add all those ribs along his side! I have to do them in small sections to let them dry. The fins along his back will come last.
